awakened from reverie

I’m on the outs with this side of the internet these days. Just too damn busy, and if I have free time I’m making it as social as I can. So I’m late to discover (delightfully) that I’ve been tagged for an esoteric meme by the lovely angela.

Here’s the rules, I guess:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

I got lucky – it could have been anything, as my house has acquired a brand new plateau of disarrangement… Yet there on top of the Recently ReDiscovered Divertissements was Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Reverie. Oddly enough (or, um Hypermetaphorically) I’d woken up with the word Träumerei in my head the other day, believing it was German for Daydreams. It seems Reverie is the theme… here’s the meme:

”…I was living in a calm, familiar house which I had not owned, with playmates, as I had sometimes dreamed of having.”
Ah! does the child who exists within us remain under the sign of the forbidden childhood? We are now in the realm of images, of images which are freer than memories.

…and here are my tag-ees: strange|beautiful, swambiego, Frank Haines, the more you see, and Laura Holder
